Cong stages walkout over land allotment delay in Sirohi
Jaipur: Congress staged a walkout during Zero Hour in Assembly Wednesday after heated exchanges over delay in land allotment of hostels for three communities in Sirohi district.Congress MLA Motiram Koli raised the issue of delay in allotting land for hostels for communities in Reodar and sought clarification from the govt.
Responding to the Calling Attention motion, revenue minister Hemant Meena said the three allotment cases in Reodar were decisions taken during the final six months of the previous Congress govt. "The previous govt allotted the land in its last six months without proper scrutiny. Now, they are alleging deficiencies and delays," Meena said. He claimed the earlier allotments were cancelled due to the absence of lease deeds and other administrative shortcomings. "If the intentions were genuine, the process was completed earlier. It appears to be done for political mileage," he remarked. Meena said the present govt would examine the deficiencies and initiate the allotment process afresh. "Our govt will allot land to social hostels strictly as per rules and due procedure," he said. He said land would be allocated in Sirohi for hostels for various communities. "The current govt will soon review the pending cases and begin the process of allotment in accordance with regulations," he added. Following the minister's response, Congress members walked out in protest. Parliamentary Affairs minister Jogaram Patel reacted to the walkout, saying, "The Congress is indulging in theatrics." The exchange highlighted sharp differences between the Treasury and Opposition benches over land allotment decisions and administrative procedures.
