CM Bhajan Lal Sharma joins Census 2027 self-enumeration, urges citizens to participate
Jaipur: Chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma Friday took part in the self-enumeration process under Census 2027, submitting his details on the official portal se.census.gov.in as the first phase of the exercise began.
After completing the process, Sharma appealed to citizens to actively participate. “Census is a vital exercise for nation-building. I urge everyone to take part in self-enumeration and ensure accurate information for better planning and governance,” he said.
The self-enumeration drive, part of the house listing and housing census phase, will be conducted from May 1 to May 15. It allows citizens to digitally submit their household and demographic details before the physical verification phase.
Highlighting the shift towards technology, Sharma said, “This is an important step towards Digital India. Self-enumeration will make the process more transparent, accurate and convenient for people.”
Officials said the portal is available in 16 languages and can be accessed using mobile number-based OTP verification. After submitting details, users will receive a self-enumeration ID to be used during the verification phase from May 16 to June 14.
The state govt has also launched an extensive awareness campaign to encourage participation. “We are using print, electronic and social media to reach people and ensure maximum participation in this exercise,” an official said.
Over 1.74 lakh personnel have been deployed for the census exercise across Rajasthan. It will be managed through 759 charge offices, supported by 98 master trainers and more than 2,500 field trainers.
Officials said the initiative is aimed at improving accuracy of data, enhancing public participation and simplifying administrative processes.
