‘Centre will bring amendment to help residents near monuments’
Jaisalmer: While attending an event in the city, union minister of state for art, culture and parliamentary affairs Arjun Meghwal said that soon the central government will bring a new amendment to facilitate the residents near historical monuments in the country including the Sonar Fort here. He said that the Centre is finding ways to solve their problems while keeping the monuments safe. Meghwal, while talking to media, during the annual function of Seemajan Kalyan Samiti in the city, said that many famous monuments are conserved by the Archaeological Survey of India. "It plays a crucial role in preserving our history but sometimes the general public has to face problems in the process. Hence to improve the equation between the ASI and the citizens, amendments will be introduced soon. It is our duty to keep the monuments safe but at the same time we have to serve our citizens too," he said.The union minister said that soon the new parliament and the central vista will be ready. "The current era is the era of self-reliant India, so why should MPs sit in the parliament made by someone else. Therefore under Atma Nirbhar Bharat, the new parliament and central vista is being readied," he added. He also said the date of Ram Mandir has been declared in January 2024. On being asked about the Vasundhara Raje's Dev Darshan yatra and her birthday celebration at Salasar, he said such programmes are in the knowledge of the BJP organisation and accordingly programmes are organised.Attacking Congress, he said,"The situation of the state is very bad as the law and order situation has totally failed. The government is only making announcements."In regard to the delay in giving citizenship to Pak displaced Hindus, he said the Centre government has implemented a citizen amendment bill so that all things become easy. Many rules are being improvised in this law which will make the process simpler and hassle free.
