Canadian couple gets nod for adoption
JAIPUR: The wait of two years for Canadian couple, David and Violet Krahn, to adopt from India is finally over and they have been allowed to adopt sister duo Radhika and Deepika who are currently in a children's home in
The sisters aged 5 and 4 years, had a dreary childhood as they lived with their mother and her partner in a slum. After the death of the mother due to cancer two years back, her partner did not take any care of the girls thus leaving them malnourished and instead asked them to earn money on their own following which they were brought to Nav Jeevan Sansthan in Jodhpur. Rajinder Singh who is in-charge of the Sansthan said, "the sisters are extremely close to each other and they have been staying here for close to 2 years. We always wanted that they should be adopted together in one home and we are very happy with their adoption.”
Talking about the adoption, David told TOI, "We had applied around 2 years back to adopt and now we are applying for passports for our daughters in Jaipur on Tuesday. We know they have had a tough childhood and we are looking forward to our time together as a family. Also, in
