"Both our MLAs have sold ir soul to Congress," said Vela Ram Ghogra, state president of BTP, over phone. "They held meeting with Congress party leaders without informing us or taking party's state and national leaders into confidence," said Ghogra, who warned its MLAs of strict action as per party's constitution and anti-defection law, if y overrode whip.
Though TOI called Roat and Dindor, who are at resort with Congress and Independent MLAs, for ir comments, y didn't respond. Ghogra slammed Congress for not meeting party's demands in last two years. "...The Congress ignored us and now time has come for us to ignore m completely," he said.
The BTP had supported Congress candidates for RS in 2020 on promise of fulfilling its 12 demands. This time, party had, initially, announced that it would abstain from voting and, later, hinted at support on a conditional basis. Congress is claiming support of 126 MLAs against need of 123 to win three seats. Experts say that even if BTP abstains from voting, Congress will sail through, provided it can keep its flock toger.
