Borewell rig hits 11 KV line in Pratapgarh, operator killed, three burned
Udaipur: A machine operator died and three workers suffered severe burns when a borewell drilling machine came into contact with an 11 kV high-tension power line in Pratapgarh, police said. The incident occurred Saturday morning in Tamtiya village under the Peeplkhunt police station area.
Peeplkhunt SHO Chhabilal said borewell digging work was underway at a field in Tamtiya village. While setting up the machine, it came into contact with the 11 kV high-tension line, causing current to spread through the machine. The current killed the machine operator Rakma Meena, 30, a resident of Amarkund, Danpur. Meanwhile, Shivlal, 24, Dinesh, 25, and Suraj, 34, were injured.
After information about the incident was received, a 108 ambulance reached the spot and took the injured to Kelamela Community Health Center for first aid. Given their critical condition, they were referred to Pratapgarh District Hospital, where they are undergoing treatment. Police from Peeplkhunt police station also reached the spot and started an investigation into the matter.
