JAIPUR: Bollywood and cricket fever marks the Holi celebrations in the
Pink City. Be it Sheila ki jawani' or Munni badnam' and Sachin Tendulakar or M S Dhoni --- the caricatures of celebrities and actors have been shaped into pichkaris' and are loved by the kids.
Kids are demanding cartoon pichkari' of Sheila, Munni, Dabgang and cricketers along with the standard tank, sten gun, flute, pressure well pattern of pichkaris, says Rajan Kalra, a shopkepper.
The market place is abuzz with the activities of shopping for the preparation of festival, with sweets, colours and kids toys.
"`I have got the Sheila ki jawani'. I am a big fan of Katrina and loved watching her dance in the song,'' says Rishi, a teenager. The increase of 10-20% in the prices ompared to last year has not affected sales.
This Holi various types of colour are available in the market which will not cause skin problem sand disappear within the minutes of first wash. Capsules which are available in 10 different colours, gulal faag crackers which bursts and spreads into multiple colours of gulal and snow colours which is spread in the form of foam and disappears within minutes.
On the occasion of Holi many of the people have decided to play a dry Holi' so that they can save water.
"I have also suggested everyone around me to not waste water,'' says
Bhupesh Singh.
Vibhor and Shubham says that they will celebrate Holi like they always do, dance to the dhol beats and enjoy fully with friends and family because this is the festival which transcends social divisons and renews sweet relationships.
Many say they will not play Holi and enjoy the World Cup because India has a chance of winning it.
