Benefits of schemes started by Cong govt dry up in state
Fifty six percent of the respondents blamed the Bhajan Lal Sharma-led BJP government for the cessation of scheme benefits, whereas as many as four-fifths of the respondents reported that they were affected by the problem of not receiving their entitlements and benefits under the schemes.
The survey found that those affected are leaning more towards Congress, when asked about their voting preferences for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Sixty percent of the affected expressed their intention to vote for the Congress, while only one-third expressed their preference to vote for BJP.
This rapid survey used a simple IVR methodology for asking just three questions to respondents who consented to participate in the survey. The survey sought to measure the extent of the problem of scheme benefits getting disrupted, enquired about whom the affected respondents held responsible, and finally, sought their voting preference in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The survey was conducted amongst 3,968 sampled persons residing in 16 of the 25 Lok Sabha constituencies of the state, with the parliamentary constituencies being divided across all regions of the state. The parliamentary constituencies covered in the survey are going to polls both in the first phase and the second phase of the Lok Sabha polls.
