Water is lifeline for everyone in Rajasthan and residents of Sanganer are no different. When it comes to getting water supply from Bisalpur Dam, it is so near yet so far.
The government officials have laid down pipelines, but water from Bisalpur Dam is yet to be supplied. So, Bisalpur water is a major poll issue in Sanganer.
Nand Kishore Jangid, a resident of Jyoti Vihar -I, a newly developed colony in Mansarovar on Mangyawas Road, said, "We have purchased land at high cost and have been living here for over a decade. We have submitted development cost, but no development is happening here. Basic facilities have never been a poll issue in Sanganer."
The colony has 80-odd houses and with the help of the government, they are getting borewell water. The society is paying the electricity bill of the borewell and if it requires, they have to repair it on their own.
"We will not vote in the coming election. We are fed up. We do not have drainage system. Water from the houses is discharged on the road. During rains, the entire colony gets waterlogged. No sewer line, no timely repair of roads," said Arun Jhalani, a businessman of the colony.
Jyoti Vihar-I is not an isolated case where basic services are lacking. The grim ground reality about amenities is same in other colonies also.
Khushal Singh, a resident of Patel Marg, said, "In Mansarovar, waterlogging during rainy season is another big issue. In major parts of the constituency, we do not have sewer lines. There is a need for repair of old sewer lines. During rains, waterlogging is a serious problem."
Asim Khan, a resident of Kalyanpuri area, said, "The roads are in a bad shape here. Nobody listens to us. We don't have proper roads. They come and ask us for vote but what about the development."
