JAIPUR: The increasing job opportunities in the social sector have fuelled the takers for

Deepa Mathur, Sociology teacher in RU, said, “The BA programme is a springboard for career opportunities. The value of this programme is increasing these days as the subjects in it hold immense importance in the society. There’s a rush for this course and is gaining popularity with time.”
Students said that they choose Arts because in this, they have subjects they want to study and they come out with a broad set of transferable skills. Also, this course helps the students to explore well and develop critical analysis as well as the abilities to look at a problem from different angles and present a cogent argument. The BA programme is a good option for students who aspire to clear civil services exams.
“An added advantage of choosing arts over any other stream is that, it has a wider scope with strong emphasis on general knowledge. Most importantly, the other courses provide limited exposure as the subjects are inter-related. The BA programme gives an opportunity to study various combinations of subjects.” said BA student.
