JAIPUR: Jeevan Ram (fatherin-law of Amit Nair) and one of the main accused in the alleged honour killing of Amit Nair was granted bail by additional district and sessions court (No-4) in Jaipur.

With his bail, all the three-main accused, Bhagwani Devi (mother of

Mamta Nair

), Mukesh Chaudhary (brother) and now Jeevan Ram (father) are all out of jail.

Nair was killed by his inlaws on May 17, 2017 as they were unhappy with her daughter Mamta’s marriage in 2015. Mamta was seven months pregnant when the indent took place.

The Supreme Court order on July 12 had directed that that the trial should be finished in a year and no bail should be granted during this period.

In the same SC order, Mukesh Chaudhary, Mamta’s brother bail was cancelled and was asked to surrender immediately.

Despite 38 days, Mukesh is still at large. The court had issued arrest warrant on Monday. The

, Rajasthan has urged the Jaipur police commissioner to immediately arrest Mukesh Chaudhary and provide security to Mamta's family.

The SC order had also highlighted that only 24 of the 47 witnesses had given their statements and therefore bail should not be granted till all had not deposed.
