‘Allow Rajput leaders during screening of film’

has requested the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to allow the presence of Rajput leaders for the screening of Padmavati at the time of certification.

In a letter to censor board chairman Prasoon Joshi, Sharma has also requested the board to end the ambiguity over Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s `Padmavati’.

Talking to TOI, Sharma said, ``There is so much turmoil in the state, which is fast spreading to other parts of the country. The confusion of what has been portrayed in the film and how, is posing a serious law and order threat. Hence, I have written to the board and requested Joshi to watch the film and clear all doubts at the earliest.’’

Sharma said that Supreme Court has also left the decision on the censor board and that needed to be done soon. In the letter, she added that an unwanted situation can be avoided if the CBFC watches the movie at the earliest and ensures that the historical facts are not distorted as alleged by the protesters. “Also ensure that the film does not harm the dignity of women in any way,’’ Sharma has said, also requesting Joshi to let Rajput leaders be present for the screening.
