Although Teamworks Arts has consistently announced that the Jaipur Literature Festival is the largest such “free” event in the world, there is a rider – those who do not register online will be charged an on-the-spot fee. The theme for the festival this year is ‘Freedom to Dream: India at 70’. The press release said nearly 1,700 people had applied to volunteer for the festival.
