Jaipur: The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) took possession of another prime land situated near Polo Victory cinema hall, just a day after it reacquired 150 bigahs of land from an institute.

After winning a long legal battle, the enforcement team immediately swung into action and took possession of 2 bigahs and 20 biswas of land on Tuesday. "Following the high court double bench orders, the JDA took possession of land and erected the board on the property. The land is situated at

heart

of the city. The JDA is likely to initiate an auction for commercial purpose to earn revenue." said a JDA official.

Official further said that acquired portion of land was owned by Jamal Khan while remaining land belonged to the JDA. Khan allegedly transferred the entire land to his name after producing fraud documents. The single bench had earlier given decision in JDA's favor.

"After the demise of Khan, his son Yareed Khan challenged the single bench order and approached double bench, where he lost the case." said the official.

A day before, the JDA had taken back possession of its 150 bigahs of land worth about Rs 1,000 crore, which was allotted at Re 1 token money to National Engineering Industries Limited at concessional rate. The JDA could earn massive revenue after selling this land.

As per the 2016 – 17 proposal, a major portion of funds of about Rs 1,825 crore has been allocated to carry out developmental work in the city. "In past two days, the JDA has recovered two prime lands which could fetch it crores of rupees. After selling these precious lands development projects can be initiated.

There are many prime lands in the city periphery which are being misused by the owners after buying them at concessional rates. Besides, many prime properties cannot be sold as JDA is cases are sub judice," added the official.

Following the state government directions, the JDA is closely monitoring lands allotted by it on concessional rates. A list of 20 such properties worth Rs 2,600 crore was prepared and forwarded to the state government.
