After desertions, Cong reaches out to families of party veterans

Jaipur: After relatives of some prominent Congress leaders, including Om Prakash Pahadia, son of veteran Congress leader and former CM Jagannath Pahadia, joined BJP a few days back, Congress has started reaching out to the families of party veterans. Jagannath Pahadia was the first Dalit chief minister of the state.Congress in-charge for Rajasthan Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa met Jagannath Pahadia’s younger son’s wife and other prominent leaders’ families at the Congress War Room the other day. As the party feels that desertions by leaders can affect the party’s perception in an election year, Randhawa began contacting the heirs of all the Congress veterans’ families in a bid to bring them back to the mainstream.Randhawa also had an elaborate discussion with former CM Shivcharan Mathur’s daughter Vandana Mathur, his granddaughter Vibha Mathur, and other family members in the Congress war room. Vibha Mathur is known as a Sachin Pilot supporter. Randhawa also met Abha Pahadia, daughter-in-law of Jagannath Pahadia and widow of Congress leader Sanjay Pahadia. Randhawa also held one-to-one discussions with the heirs of three former Congress state presidents about party matters. Randhawa also met with Dr Raghu Vyas, son of former Congress state president Girdhari Lal Vyas, Rupesh Kant Vyas, grandson of former state president Ram Kishore Vyas and Anil Chaudhary, grandson of former state president Sardar Harlal Singh.
