ABVP protests in city demanding justice for Pulwama widows

Jaipur: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Wednesday staged a protest outside Gandhi Nagar police station demanding justice for Pulwama widows, students' issues like the Central Library of the university being closed despite inauguration.ABVP representatives on Tuesday waved black flags in front of chief minister Ashok Gehlot’s convoy as the chief minister was leaving from an event at University of Rajasthan. The protesting students came in front of the CM's vehicle and raised slogans which led to chaos. Police officials present in the area resorted to lathi charge to clear the students from the road and give pass to CM's convoy.“Six ABVP workers have been arrested by the police with serious non-bailable sections. Protesting against this, we gheraoed the police station and stopped our sit-in protest on assurance that the students would be produced in court as soon as possible. However, police did not present the workers in the court. ABVP strongly condemns this conspiracy. We are only raising voice for the justice of Pulwama widows and wanted to meet the chief minister to discuss many such issues like unemployment, paper leak, women's safety in Rajasthan, but we were not allowed,” said Hushyar Meena, national secretary of ABVP.He further said that the constitution allows students and public to protest and ABVP will continue to protest till the representatives are released from jail.
