JAIPUR: There seems to be no end to female feticide
and infanticide cases in the state. Barely four days after the body of an abandoned newborn girl was found in Jhunjhunu’sPilani
town, a similar case was reported in Nagaur’sJayal
area on Wednesday. Police said body of a newborn girl, stuffed in a plastic bag, was found dumped on the roadside on Wednesday evening .
Some passersby informed the police when they spotted the bag which was surrounded by stray dogs. A team was immediately rushed to the spot. They took the girl to a hospital where doctors declared her brought dead. The body also may have been gnawed by dogs, police said.
The police have lodged an FIR against unidentified persons . The police did not rule out the possibility that the girl was abandoned because she could be an “unwanted” child. The police have conducted DNA profiling so that they can match child's DNA with that of her parents. The police are also investigating to find out if the girl was alive or dead when she was abandoned.
