AAP accused of not paying rent for its former Jaipur office
The property, House number 10 in Bhawani Singh lane, behind Sahakar Marg, covers an area of nearly 8,000 sq ft. It was initially rented to AAP in April 2021 at a monthly rent of Rs 2.25 lakh, which was later reduced to Rs 1.65 lakh. Dudi alleged that the party stopped paying rent from Nov 2023.
Even though AAP vacated the premises in Jan 2024, the outstanding amount remains unpaid, Dudi said.
Frustrated with the lack of response from the party, Dudi expressed his disappointment. “Several months have passed since the rent payments ceased, and my attempts to contact all the office bearers have been in vain. I have sent several reminders to clear the dues. Since Sept the payment was irregular, and it completely stopped in Nov. The security was adjusted, but the outstanding dues remain,” he told TOI.
Responding to the allegations, Naveen Paliwal, AAP’s state president, said, “The matter is between the party and the owner, and I will only speak to the owner. If you want any further details, talk to the owner."
AAP has been working to expand its presence in Rajasthan beyond its established territories. In the recent state assembly elections, 85 AAP candidates contested, but none succeeded in winning a seat, with the party receiving a vote share of only 0.37%.
