The police officials said that the boy also sustained burn injuries and is admitted in the hospital.
According to the police, the incident took place at Patang Walon Ka Mohalla in Ramganj area. "Mohammed Raseed, who originally hails from Uttar Pradesh, lives with his wife and two children in a rented accommodation here. The mishap occurred on Thursday after he left home for work," said a police officer.
The officer said that Raseed's wife had boiled water for taking a bath. "She put the bucket on the floor unattended and got busy with other chores. Her one-year-old son was playing with his sister, Saina. He crawled towards the bucket and tried to get up with its support," said the officer.
The officer added that the bucket fell down due to the boy's weight. "Saina was sitting near her brother. The hot water fell on her. It also fell on the boy's leg. Hearing her cries, the mother rushed to the kitchen and was shocked to see what had happened," said the officer.
The two siblings were rushed to the hospital for treatment. The girl's burn injuries were severe. "The doctors couldn't save her but the boy is out of danger," said the officer.
