Jodhpur: Four pilgrims from Gujarat were killed and 20 injured after a head-on collision between a bus and a trailer near Mulanada royalty check-point in Keru village on Jodhpur–Jaisalmer National Highway 125 Tuesday.
The deceased have been identified as Rawal bhai, Suresh bhai, Jayesh and Veenu.

According to police, all the 24 passengers on the bus were residents of Ramana Rupan village in Aravalli district of Gujarat and were on a pilgrimage. They were returning to Gujarat after paying obeisance at the shrine of Baba Ramdev in Ramdeora in Jaisalmer district, police said.
The police rushed to the spot on receiving information and rescued the injured from the bus with the help of local villagers. The injured were taken by ambulance to MDM Hospital in Jodhpur. The trailer driver fled after the accident.
"The bodies were kept in the mortuary of the hospital and would be handed over to the family members on their arrival," said the police.
The collision was so severe that there was chaos and screaming among the passengers. The front portions of both the bus and the trailer were completely wrecked.
