4 ex-students held for bursting firecrackers outside school
Jaipur: Jaipur police on Sunday arrested four former students of Jayshree Periwal High School for bursting firecrackers near the school on October 24 with an aim to settle scores with their former teachers.
Police said that four accused Suleman Ellahi (21), Prashant Chelani (19), Akarsh Vaidh (20), and Naman Jain (20) had lit firecrackers outside the main gate of the school to create panic. They had also uploaded the video of the act on a social media site.
“Somebody had seen the video and sent a bomb hoax email to the school, warning them that a bomb will go off at 12pm,” said Vaishali Nagar SHO Bhopal Singh Bhatti, adding that they were trying to find the person who sent the email.
Singh added that all four had some personal enmity with the school. “One of them had failed in a subject in the school. Hence, they decided to teach their school a lesson by bursting firecrackers,” said Singh.
Police said that somebody with the motive of triggering panic sent an email to the school.
“The video was uploaded on Snapchat. We suspect that somebody saw the video and used it as a tool to spread panic. We are carrying out cyber investigation to nab the culprit,” SHO Bhatti told TOI.
Police said that the email was sent to the official email ID of the school in the morning from Switzerland. Cops suspect that the accused had used a proxy server to send the email.
