367 criminals held during raid by cops at 350 places in 7 dists
Jaipur: In a major crackdown against the criminals associated with various gangs, the Rajasthan police on Sunday conducted massive raids in Churu, Sriganganagar, Bikaner, Udaipur, Sirohi, Pali and Jodhpur (Rural) districts of the state and arrested 367 persons engaged in various crimes. The arrested included 22 aides of gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi, Anand Pal Singh and Rohit Godara. Police have also recovered illegal weapons, gold, silver and one bullet proof jacket from these criminals. More than 2,500 policemen across the state raided at more than 350 places.MN Dinesh, additional director general (crime) stated that after interrogating the aides of Lawrence Bishnoi gang who were recently arrested by Jaipur police, various information was developed. “We came to know about the aides of gangsters who are directly or indirectly supporting them in crime. Thus, we had given a specific input to the district SPs of Churu, Sriganganagar, Bikaner, Udaipur, Sirohi, Pali and Jodhpur (Rural) districts to conduct raids to nab these criminals. Various teams started searches and raids since 5 am in these districts and got good results,” Dinesh told TOI. He claimed that with the raids police managed to dismantle a big criminal network in the state and similar crackdown would continue in the coming days.“The biggest catch included Raju Singh who is a history-sheeter of Gajner police station and is close aide of gangster Anand Pal Singh who was killed in a police encounter some years ago. Six pistols, 44 cartridges and one bullet proof jacket were recovered from his possession,” said Om Prakash, inspector general of police (Bikaner Range) who was monitoring the raids at the Bikaner control room."Others included Hari Om Ramawat arrested by Sriganganagar police. He is an aide of Rohit Godara and a reward of Rs 1 lakh was already declared on him,” he added.“Two others including Ashish Bishnoi and Kuljit Rana, aides of Lawrence Bishnoi were also arrested by Sriganganagar police,” he said. Apart from this, 125 were arrested by Udaipur police from 12 police station areas. “These included history-sheeters, hardcore criminals wanted in Arms Act and NDPS Act cases,” said an officer of Udaipur police. Similarly three were arrested in Sirohi, eight in Pali and 180 were arrested by the Bikaner range in Churu, Sriganganagar and Bikaner districts.
