Jittery students shared that they dropped out of their exam and embark on a journey with uncertainty over their future. Deepak Jangid, a first year student arrived in Jammu on Tuesday morning had very less sleep during the journey like his other friends. "The time we step out of our campus I knew that my future is uncertain. I came here to become an engineer but I am running for my safety," said Jangid, over phone amid loud slogans against the NIT Srinagar which was overheard.

Earlier, these students were very hesitant to speak to this reporter and shared information in complete anonymity. As they arrived in Jammu they were filled with confidence and were more than happy to share what they had undergone in series of incident after India lost T20 semi-final match against the West Indies on March 30. They are likely to reach their respective cities on Thursday or Friday.
Parents of these students continue to have sleepless nights. Usha Pandey (Dubey), a mother national level basketball player and first year student Abhinav Dubey has asked the Central and state government to chalk out a contingency plan for these kids."My son came back to Srinagar on April 4 after participating in the national level basketball competition in Calicut representative his NIT (Srinagar). After six days he has to leave the campus and his minor exams for chanting 'Bharat Mata ke jai," said Usha, a resident of Kota.
