30 panchayat bhavans still await financial sanction

Jaipur: Panchayati raj department data has revealed that financial sanctions have not been issued for building panchayat bhavans for 30 newly created gram panchayats in Rajasthan yet even as lands have been allotted for the same. Out of these 30 gram panchayats, 10 are in Jaipur district.
The 10 gram panchayats in Jaipur are Udaipuria (Jalsu), Ugawas (Tunga), Mangarh Khokhawala (Bassi). Devitala (Aandhi), Hirapura (Madhorajpura), Gurjarpura (Viratnagar), Gopalgarh, Rampurawas Ramgarh (Jamwa Ramgarh), Dahar, Bhojyara (Chaksu).
Of these, four gram panchayats are in Barmer district, three in Dausa, two each in Jodhpur and Jhunjhunu and one each in Pratapgarh, Rajsamand, Sikar, Nagaur, Bundi, Alwar, Bharatpur, Churu and Jaisalmer.
Also, in 34 gram panchayats, work of building panchayat bhavans hasn’t started yet even as financial sanctions have been issued, the data revealed. Out of these, seven panchayat bhawans are in Barmer, five in Alwar, four in Bikaner, four in Churu, four in Jaisalmer, three in Udaipur, two in Dausa, two in Pratapgarh and one each in Jaipur, Hanumangarh, Jhunjhunu, Karauli and Bundi.
The progress of building panchayat bhavans was discussed during a review meeting on June 9. According to a PowerPoint presentation, out of 1,443 gram panchayats, lands have been allotted for 1436 panchayat bhavans and financial sanctions have been allotted for 1406 panchayat bhavans.
