ALWAR: Three minor offenders cut open a window of their juvenile correction home and escaped after jumping over its boundary wall in Alwar on Friday night. The police said that 15 juvenile offenders have escaped from the same correction home in the past one year.
The three were being kept at the juvenile correction home following their detention on charges of robbery and abduction.
The police are still clueless about their whereabouts. The correction home is situated just 50 metres from the local police station.
Acting superintendent of the correction home Babulal Saini has lodged a case with Shivji Park police station saying that three juvenile offenders escaped from the correction home.
"They cut open an iron security net and escaped after jumping over the boundary wall. As soon as, we came to know about their disappearance, we launched a search for them nearby, but they could not be traced," said Saini.
Correction home officials said the place is not secured enough to keep juvenile offenders. "The building was meant for a hostel, but it was turned into a juvenile home. The premises are not properly secured. This is the reason why so many incidents of juveniles escaping from this correction home have taken place in the recent past. We have written to senior officials as well as the minister concerned, but nothing has been done in this regard," said a correction home officer.
