JAIPUR: Three people, including a toddler, died while one other sustained injuries when the car they were travelling in collided head-on with a truck before plummeting into a roadside ditch in Raisar area.
The accident occurred at around 12.30am, according to Mahendra Singh Shekhawat, the Station House Officer of Raisar.
The victims, all of whom were related and hailed from Uttar Pradesh, were on their way back from Khatu Shaymji in Sikar when the accident occurred. "The car collided head-on with the truck and fell into a roadside ditch. Then the truck also fell on the car. The truck driver managed to flee from the spot," the SHO said.
The occupants of the car were identified as Ravi (28), his sister Rinki (24), her husband Ankit (30), and their daughter Devki (3). While Ravi, Ankit, and Devki succumbed to their injuries, Rinki is currently receiving medical attention at a hospital. The authorities have stated that the bodies of the deceased will be released to their family members following the completion of post-mortem examinations.
