AJMER: Beawar police on Friday arrested three people for spreading fake news related to coronavirus on social media platforms.
The message came out on March 25 stating that a woman named Vimala Devi was admitted to Amrit Kaur Hospital in Beawar and that she tested positive for coronavirus. The message also showed the admission record of the patient as well as the report for Covid-19.
The message created panic in Beawar city forcing police to launch an investigation.

On Friday, they arrested three people. It was revealed that the message originated from Shri Ram Bhakt Sewa group on WhatsApp, whose admin Lokesh Jangid of Beawar was interrogated by police. He said the message was forwarded by Inder Chand Jangid, who got message from Kailash Choudhary. After confirming, police arrested Lokesh Jangid, 23, Inder Chand Jangid, 37, and Kailash Choudhary, 43. Police made an appeal not to share any fake news on social media. tnn
