Jaipur: A special operation launched by the city police in Oct culminated in the arrest of 24 notorious criminals accused of serious offences, including murder, attempted murder, abduction, and extortion.
DCP (west) Amit Kumar said the operation targeted fugitives evading arrest in serious criminal cases. "The operation aimed to track down criminals who went into hiding after committing serious offences. We constituted special teams for technical investigations, while another undercover team conducted raids at suspected hideouts," said Kumar.
The arrested criminals have been identified as Tara Meena, Mukesh Soni, Vijay Kumar Meena, Suneel Kumar, Sanjay Choudhary, Ajeet Choudhary, Ramesh Kashyap, Prakash Kashyap, Rahul Yadav, Ajay Singh, Rakesh Yadav, Narendra Singh, Kailash Nayak, Vijay Singh, Ram Swarup, Rajendra Kumar, Virendra, Santosh, Sahil, Nanda, Roop Naryan, and Himanshy Jangid.
The operation also led to the detention of five other individuals with extensive criminal records, some of whom are history-sheeters. "These five suspects have been involved in at least seven or more criminal cases," Kumar added.
Kumar said the Jaipur police first compiled the database of wanted suspects in different criminal cases. Different teams were then given the task of tracking down the last seen whereabouts of the accused. Undercover teams went to the native towns of the accused to collect information about who were helping provide shelters to the accused and giving them money to evade the police.
