Mukto Assembly Election Result 2024: BJP's Pema Khandu wins unopposed

NEW DELHI: BJP candidate and current CM of Arunachal Pradesh, Pema Khandu, won Mukto assembly constituency unopposed. Mukto assembly constituency is located in the Tawang district and is designated as the constituency number 3.

It falls under the Arunachal West Lok Sabha constituency and is reserved for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates, predominantly inhabited by the Monpa tribe.

The constituency has a voting population of 7,995 people, with a literacy rate of around 60%. In the 2019 assembly elections, the voter turnout was notably high at about 83%, reflecting strong political engagement among the residents.



This region is known for its high-altitude terrain and scenic beauty. Mukto has gained significant political attention as it is represented by Pema Khandu, the current chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh, who won the 2019 assembly elections as a BJP candidate, and previously secured victory in 2014 as an INC candidate before switching to the BJP.
