NEW DELHI: Bharatiya Janata Party's Gabriel Denwang Wangsu won the Kanubari assembly constituency in Arunachal Pradesh by a margin of 2059 votes. National People's Party's Panjam Wangsa secured 3525 votes, while People's Party of Arunachal's Nokchai Boham got 2508 votes. Congress candidate Sompha Wangsa got 201 votes.
Kanubari constituency is part of the Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh.
The constituency is one of the 60 constituencies that form the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly and is a scheduled tribe (ST) category reserved seat.
In 2019, BJP candidate Gabriel Denwang Wangsu won the election with 6,707 votes, followed by INC candidate Nokchai Boham who got 2,471 votes.
