Heroin worth 70k seized in Arunachal

Itanagar: A person was arrested in Arunachal Pradesh's West Siang district after heroin worth Rs 70,000 and unaccounted cash of Rs 2.5 lakh were seized from his possession, police said.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of the Alo Police Station personnel apprehended the person from the Piyi area and recovered 8.5 grams of narcotics substance, West Siang Superintendent of Police (SP) Abhimanyu Poswal said. Two mobile handsets, empty soap cases and plastic tobacco containers were also seized from his possession, the SP said. A case under Section 22 of the NDPS Act has been registered, he said. PTI

The police recovered 1.024 kilograms of illegal smack, which has a high value in the illicit drug market.

46g heroin worth over 30L seized, 6 held in Guwahati

Six drug peddlers were apprehended by the special task force of Assam Police in Guwahati. The peddlers were involved in supplying drugs to youths in the city, and a total of 46 grams of heroin, valued at over Rs 30 lakh, were seized from them. The arrested individuals were from Guwahati, Meghalaya, and other parts of the state. They will be produced in court on Sunday.
