Four criminals escape from jail in Arunachal

Itanagar: Four criminals escaped from a jail in Namsai district of Arunachal Pradesh in the early hours of Sunday.
SP (Namsai) Sange Thinley said, “They fled from the prison around 12.30am after breaking open the ventilator grille.” They have been identified as Mineswar Dihingia (37), Gopal Munda (23), Arjun Kandha (27) and Robin Surin (45).
SDPO (Namsai) J Molo said Dihingia was a militant of the NSCN (U) and was caught at Mahadevpur in the district in 2021. Charges under IPC sections 392/448 were slapped on him.
Munda was arrested under IPC Section 376 (rape) read with Section 6 of the Pocso Act, while Kandha was arrested under IPC section 363 (kidnap).
Surin was arrested under IPC sections 302 (murder) and 201 (disappearance of evidence). Police have launched a hunt to trace and nab the fugitives. Probe is on.

This move aims to maintain public order and safety.
