Arunachal focuses on sustainable agriculture

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh agriculture and allied departments minister Gabriel D Wangsu on Tuesday reiterated the state govt’s commitment to promoting sustainable agricultural practices and ensuring welfare of all officers and staff of the departments.Chairing a review meeting in Itanagar on Tuesday, on major initiatives such as ‘Catch Them Young’, revolving fund and Atma Nirbhar Yojana, Wangsu said the govt was fully committed to realizing concrete outcomes in the agriculture and allied sectors, focussing on state agri-horti policies. The meeting was attended by senior officials of the agriculture, horticulture, veterinary and fisheries department.Acknowledging the efforts of the agriculture, horticulture, fisheries and animal husbandry & veterinary department officials, the minister praised them for their dedication and urged them to prepare for enhanced responsibilities, having highlighted the achievements and operational challenges that have impacted various farmer-centric schemes.Wangsu also assured officials of a significant enhancement in budgetary allocations, projecting a quantum leap to enable expansive growth. The potential increase in funds will facilitate the govt’s vision of a more resilient and self-sustaining agricultural framework, he said.

The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has opened online applications for the Combined State Agriculture Services Mains Exam 2024. Approximately 2,029 candidates who cleared the preliminary exam are eligible to apply until November 11, 2024, for a limited 268 vacancies.
