Arunachal man arrested for ‘molesting’ girls

Itanagar: A 37-year-old man was arrested for allegedly molesting multiple minor girls, police said on Wednesday night.Capital SP Rohit Rajbir Singh said the accused, a native of Nuna Camp village in West Kameng district’s Dirang, was apprehended following a complaint filed at the Itanagar Women Police Station (WPS).The arrest came after a 14-year-old girl was allegedly molested on Sept 7. The accused had offered the victim a lift on a scooter on her way to school, Singh said.The SP said, “The accused touched her inappropriately during the ride. The girl managed to escape by jumping off the moving vehicle.”The complaint led to a swift investigation. The team, led by inspector Rina Sonam and investigating officer inspector Nich Rupa, uncovered a pattern of similar incidents targeting school and college girls in Itanagar.Further investigation through the “Police Ajin” initiative revealed seven more victims, bringing the total to eight, the SP added. Four victims are from a govt secondary high school in Ganga village, while four are from Don Bosco College in Itanagar.The accused confessed to the crimes and is currently in judicial custody.SP Singh commended the investigation team for their dedication to apprehending the serial molester and identifying multiple victims. He also urged people to publicise the case widely, encouraging any additional victims to come forward.He has assured complete confidentiality for all victims.

Man accused of kidnap and murder of minor girl arrested

In Kanpur, a fugitive murder accused, Deepak Kumar, was arrested after an encounter with police in Jajmau on Saturday. He was involved in the kidnapping and murder of a 13-year-old girl from 2022. Kumar, who had a Rs 25,000 reward on his head, was injured during the arrest and later hospitalized. A pistol, bike, and cartridges were recovered.

Van driver molests class 12 girl returning from school garba

In Surat, a class 12 girl was allegedly molested by her school van driver for an hour during a ride home after a school Navratri celebration. The driver, Vijay Posture, was arrested following the parents' complaint. Police revealed that this was not the first instance, highlighting lapses by the school in monitoring drivers.

Man arrested for raping and murdering a 6-year-old girl in Ludhiana

Ludhiana police arrested a 32-year-old man for luring, raping, and murdering a 6-year-old girl in a labor quarter. The man, a habitual drinker, had been intoxicated since morning. After committing the crime, he fled, but was captured within 24 hours. He had hidden the girl's body on a nearby tin roof before escaping.
