Army cycling expedition concludes

Itanagar: The Army’s three-day cycling expedition, which was organised as part of the 62nd Walong Day celebrations, concluded at the Namti war memorial on Thursday.The 251-km adventure trip was flagged off by Arunachal deputy CM Chowna Mein at the Golden Pagoda on Oct 21 and was jointly organized by the state govt, the Indian Army and North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited.Defence PRO Lt Col Mahendra Rawat said as many as 62 cyclists, including enthusiasts from the Army, women officers, ITBP personnel, locals and two youths from Pune, traversed through the border districts of Namsai, Lohit and Anjay. He added that the riders travelled through the Kamlang Tiger Reserve in Wakro and the Parsuram Kund in Lohit district and also interacted with locals in Hayuliang in Anjaw district.Rawat further said the closing ceremony was marked by a deep sense of camaraderie and remembrance.
