Youth stabbed to death, minor friend injured over old enmity in Ratlam

Indore: A 23-year-old youth was stabbed to death and his minor friend was injured following a dispute over old enmity in Ratlam on Saturday late night. On Sunday, family members protested on Mhow-Neemuch highway leading to traffic jam.. Ratlam SP Anurag Sujaniya said that the incident took place around 8:30 pm when Narayan Dodiya was called to Sanavadv Phata by the accused to strike a compromise in an old case. When he reached the spot with his brother Rajpal Singh and friend Narayan Bhati the accused — Ritesh Rana, Ankit Prajapati, Sachin and two more — attacked them using sticks and sharp-edged weapons. Rajpal, brother of the deceased, said that they were called to Ratlam bus stand. When they refused to come, they again asked them to come to Sanavada Phata to strike a compromise. Narayan received injuries on his chest and stomach and was bleeding profusely. He was rushed to medical college where he succumbed during treatment due to excessive blood loss. The deceased is a farmer whereas the injured studies in Class X. Soon after receiving information, villagers reached the district hospital in large numbers and demanded strict actions against the accused. The family members staged a protest at Nayagaon Lebad Gate near Sanavada Phata and said that they would not carry out the final rites of the deceased until the house of the accused is demolished. A traffic jam was witnessed on the four lane for over three hours. It was after police officials assured them of immediate action, the crowd dispersed. Family members said that Narayan had a dispute with the boys of Barvankhedi for the past few years.
