Indore police crime branch team on Sunday arrested a 20-year-old youth from Noida in Uttar Pradesh for allegedly conning a retired government school teacher of Rs 30 lakh by promising her a bonus on an existing insurance policy.

INDORE: Indore police crime branch team on Sunday arrested a 20-year-old youth from Noida in Uttar Pradesh for allegedly conning a retired government school teacher of Rs 30 lakh by promising her a bonus on an existing insurance policy.
Cops said, Dhananjai Verma, a native of Allahabad in UP, was arrested from Sector-15, Noida for duping retired school teacher Nalini Reodikar.

According to a city crime branch official, retired principal had recently reported to police, about a person named as Aditya Singh having conned her into depositing Rs 30 lakh in two accounts of separate private banks after assuring her bonus on an existing life insurance policy.
But after the money was deposited by Nalini entire sum was withdrawn from the two bank accounts and the accounts were closed subsequently.
A crime branch team of sub-inspector PN Goel and assistant sub inspector Amit Dixit after probing the case tracked accused Dhananjai Verma after eight days from a flat in Noida and arrested.
During primary questioning Dhananjai admitted posing as Aditya Singh and duping the Indore based ex-principal of Rs 30 lakh. A sum of Rs 6 lakh has been recovered by cops, while police teams will be sent to other cities, including Allahabad, Agra, Kota and Noida to recover the remaining sum.
