Woman’s bag snatched after assault in Dhar

Mhow: An unidentified biker assaulted a 26-year-old woman and snatched her bag near Bamanpuri village on Khalghat-Dharmpuri road in Dhar district on Tuesday afternoon. Dhamnod police station sub-inspector Vijay Wasklale told TOI that a woman, Tayyaba Bee, a resident of Jhirniya village in Khargone, was on her way to Dharampuri for Eid shopping when the incident took place. In her statement, she mentioned that while she was waiting for public transport in Khalghat, a biker came to her and offered her a lift. The woman went along with him, but, after going a few kilometres, he stopped the bike and tried to snatch her bag. When she resisted he hit her head with a big stone and he fled with the bag containing around Rs 2000. Some passersby took her to Dhamnod community health centre from where she was referred to district hospital. Waskale said that a case was registered against the accused and a search was on for him.
