Woman dies by suicide

Indore: A woman identified as Sonia alias Poonia Bairagi died by suicide on Tuesday morning in the Ramnagar area under Vijay Nagar police station limits in Indore. Police said Sonia hanged herself at her rented home. Her death came just three days after her live-in partner, Babu Bairagi, was murdered—allegedly by her ex-husband, Raju Yadav. Since Babu's death, Sonia was in deep shock and was preparing to return to her maternal home in Howrah, Kolkata.Before leaving, she expressed a wish to meet Raju, who is currently in jail in connection with Babu's murder. Police reported that Sonia's body was found hanging in her room and was sent to MY Hospital for a post-mortem examination. She was living with Babu Bairagi, a chef by profession, after separating from her husband Raju Yadav.Raju, reportedly angered by Sonia's relationship with Babu, allegedly killed him by stabbing him in the early hours of Saturday. He was arrested shortly after and sent to jail. Following the incident, Sonia confided in her landlord that she wanted to return to Kolkata. Train tickets for the Howrah Express were already booked, and she was scheduled to leave Tuesday night.A neighbour checked on her Tuesday morning, but after receiving no response, broke into the room and found her hanging. Police are currently attempting to contact Sonia's family in Kolkata.
