Woman among three held for smuggling drugs
Indore: Juni Indore police on Tuesday arrested three people, including a woman, involved in smuggling drugs in the area and seized 2 kg of cannabis from their possession. Juni Indore police station in charge Anil Kumar Gupta deployed a special team to monitor and detain individuals involved in supply and distribution of drugs. On Monday night, while patrolling in Vasudev Nagar, a police official noticed a suspicious exchange at a vacant plot near the main gate bus stop. A woman and a man were seated at the location when another individual approached them. The woman was seen handing over a bag to the newcomer, while the man standing beside her received money in return. The activity appeared highly suspicious, prompting the police team to take immediate action.Upon interception and search of the bag, officers discovered 2 kg cannabis. The three individuals — Neeta Mathariya, 32, a resident of Ujjain; Sonu alias Bablu Suryavanshi, 34, from Ujjain; and Kapil Yadav, 28, originally from Khargone and currently residing in Indore — were arrested. During questioning, Neeta and Sonu admitted to transporting the cannabis from Ujjain for the purpose of selling it to Kapil. Further investigations are underway to uncover the broader network involved in the illegal cannabis trade.
