Walkathon organised ahead of Smart conclave

Indore: A smart relay clubbing walkathon, bike rally and cyclothon was organised jointly by the district administration, Indore Municipal Corporation and the Smart City on Sunday ahead of the India Smart Cities Conclave 2023 and to enhance voter participation in the assembly polls. The ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Government of India is organizing the India Smart Cities Conclave 2023 in Indore on 26-27th September 2023.The walkathon started from Rajwada at 7 am followed by a bike rally from Gandhi Hall and cyclothon from Chappan Dukan at 7:30 am. The Smart Relay concluded at Gandhi Hall. Indore collector Ilaiyaraaja T said, “Indore is the number one smart city in the country and to make Indore number one in voting also, a large number of youth and participants participated in the Smart Relay and took the oath of voting.”He said, keeping in view the upcoming assembly elections, more and more citizens are being motivated to become aware of voting and a mobile app has also been released by the election department through which new voters can register themselves.He said citizens can get information about the candidates of their areas and can also get information about the latest results during voting through mobile applications.Indore Municipal Corporation commissioner Harshika Singh said, “A smart relay was organized on Sunday to make people of Indore aware about the national conclave happening in the city. Smart city CEOs, administrative officers and public representatives from various states and cities will participate in this conclave.” TNN

Conclave at UGI organised

The Sangam city of Prayagraj has the potential to become an industrial hub and generate employment opportunities, according to the Vice Chancellor of Prof Rajendra State University. The city has an abundant supply of human resources, making it suitable for the growth and sustainability of industries. This was discussed during the first national conclave of HR Sangam-2023 organized by United Group of Institutions. Additionally, Indian Railways is set to operate a direct train between Prayagraj and Somnath in Gujarat, providing convenient connectivity for passengers.

Bhopal: 8 years on, smart city still in pipeline

Bhopal Smart City Development Corporation Limited (BSCDCL) is focusing on land monetization to make the smart city project self-sustainable. Encroachment in TT Nagar has increased, and the smart city project has not reached the area. BSCDCL has released a green and blue master plan but has faced opposition for chopping down trees. The sale of plots in the area has generated about Rs 300 crore, but controversies have arisen. BSCDCL has offloaded visible projects to other agencies, and empty skyscrapers dominate the skyline as the project remains incomplete.

Dhanbad biz community keen to invest in Ranchi Smart City Project

The business community in Dhanbad is optimistic about investing in the Ranchi Smart City project. They are eagerly waiting for the bidding process to start and expect to invest heavily. However, they express concerns about the high rates for residential purposes, which may result in the acquisition of plots by wealthy individuals from outside the state. The business community urges the government to provide discounts to residents. Similar sentiments are echoed by the president of the Federation of Dhanbad Chamber of Commerce, who also demands smart city projects for Dhanbad.
