Vyapam case: Probe officers’ statements recorded

Indore: A local court on Tuesday recorded the statements of two investigation officers in a case related to accused Pankaj Trivedi, a former MPPEB examination controller and an alleged Vyapam scam accused.
DSP, Lokayukta, BS Parihar and Daulat Singh’s statements were recorded by the court here. Justice BK Paloda asked Parihar about the investigation and sources, based on which raids were conducted at the Bhopal residence of Piyush Trivedi, brother of Pankaj Trivedi.
“We explained to the court that searches were conducted based on a tip off from a source. We also said that we cannot reveal the identity of the informer. The court accepted our contention,” Daulat Singh said.
The court also asked the investigation officers whether the officials were sure of the source that led them to conduct searches. Parihar told court that he was sure of his sources as the Lokayukta police had ample experience in dealing with sources.
The court set January 23 as the next date of hearing.
