INDORE: Two white SUVs bearing the same registration number MP09CQ9108 became a difficult puzzle for the Tukoganj police on Tuesday afternoon. While one of the SUVs was owned by a Khan family from city’s Nandanavan Colony, the other SUV was registered in the name of city-based pharma company Hindustan Phosphates Pvt Ltd.
The registration number was issued by the state transport department to Mujeeb Ahmad Khan in January 2015, whereas the owners of city-based pharmaceutical company made an online payment of Rs 5,000 to the department for same registration number on February 5, 2015.
Tukoganj police station in-charge Dilip Singh Chaudhary said it was a youth from the Khan family, Rameez Khan, whose friends spotted the other white SUV of same model bearing the identical registration number. They informed about it to Rameez, who too was travelling in his SUV on the same road in Tukoganj area. "We’ve taken copies of registration papers from both the parties and will enquire the entire episode with the Indore RTO on Wednesday," Chaudhary added.
