Two teenagers drown in village pond in Ujjain
Ujjain: Two teenage boys drowned in a village pond in Ujjain on Tuesday after straying into deep water while bathing. The incident occurred at Raghau Piplia village. A third boy, who had accompanied them but stayed out of the water, saw the pair struggling and ran to alert villagers.

The deceased were identified as Ritesh, 14, the son of Pawan Rajoria, and Rohit, 15, the son of Govardhan Doria, both residents of Raghau Piplia. Nanakheda police station in charge Narendra Kumar Yadav said, "The teenagers went to the pond in the afternoon. A 3rd boy who was standing outside the pond saw them drowning and informed the villagers."Acting on the alert, police reached the spot and, with the help of villagers, retrieved the bodies from the pond. The 2 were rushed to the district hospital in an FRV vehicle, where doctors declared them dead on arrival.Post-mortems were conducted and the bodies were handed over to their families. Police registered an unnatural death case.
