Indore: Four persons, including two minors, were arrested in connection with several thefts reported in Raoti area of Ratlam district.
Raoti police said, on the night of Oct 2, unidentified miscreants broke into the house of Ravi Damar, a resident of Ranisingh village, by breaking a wall with an iron rod. The intruders allegedly threatened the family and decamped with Rs 60,000 in cash and silver ornaments, including bangles, anklets, a mangalsutra, and other items. Also, on Oct 5, cash worth Rs 7000 and silver earrings were stolen from the shop of Nilesh Soni after unknown accused lifted its shutter. Later, on Oct 9, two kiosks belonging to Mukesh Maliwad and Sunil Machar were targeted, where unidentified men broke open the locks and stole imitation jewellery, clothes, and other goods.
Following several theft incidents, a special team led by Raoti police station in charge, Deepak Mandloi was constituted. The team, with the support of the cyber and fingerprint units, conducted thorough fieldwork and collected crucial evidence from the crime scenes. Sustained efforts and vigilant ground policing helped the team trace two suspects, who were taken into custody. Later, the accused, Mukesh and Rakesh, both residents of Ranisingh village, confessed to committing the series of thefts along with their two juvenile accomplices. Based on their information, the police recovered stolen items worth approximately Rs 1.06 lakh, including Rs 22,000 in cash.
