Two killed as car & truck collide head-on

Two persons were killed and one injured when a car they were travelling in collided head-on with an truck in Pandhana Road area in Khandwa. The police said on Sunday that the accident took place near Panjriya village at around 11.30pm on Saturday.

Indore: Two persons were killed and one injured when a car they were travelling in collided head-on with an truck in Pandhana Road area in Khandwa. The police said on Sunday that the accident took place near Panjriya village at around 11.30pm on Saturday. The occupants of the car--- Shashank Awasthi, Rahul Goswami and Priyanshu Patel - all residents of Tagore Colony, were going to Pandhana from Khandwa.

When they reached Panjriya village, their vehicle collided head-on with a truck coming from Burhanpur and going to Ajamgarh. The impact of the collision was so intense that the car was dragged up to 30 meters and overturned after going off the road. The front portion of the car was completely damaged.
Padam Nagar police station officials said that two persons died on the spot, while one is critical. “Monty was driving the car, and his body could be taken out only after cutting the door frame of the car,” police station in-charge KD Tiwari said. “Rahul and Priyanshu were taken to a hospital, where Rahul was declared dead on arrival. Priyanshu’s condition was said to be critical,” he said. tnn
