Three-layer security, early reporting norms for MPPSC prelims 2026
Indore: Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) will introduce a three-layer security system for the State Service and Forest Service Preliminary Examination 2026, marking a significant overhaul in the examination process. The move comes as over 1.34 lakh candidates are set to appear for the State Service Prelims on April 26 across more than 500 centres in 54 districts.Under the revised protocol, candidates must reach their allotted centres at least 90 minutes before the examination, as entry will be strictly closed 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start. Officials said the extended reporting time is essential to complete the detailed frisking and biometric verification process smoothly. The three-layer security system will be implemented in a structured manner. The first layer will involve entry-level verification, where admit cards will be checked and matched with candidate photographs. Only after this initial clearance will candidates be allowed to proceed further. The second layer will focus on frisking and detection of prohibited items. Candidates will pass through hand-held metal detectors and will also undergo manual checking to ensure that no electronic gadgets or unfair means are carried inside the examination hall. The third and most advanced layer will be biometric authentication. This will include fingerprint verification through biometric machines, QR code scanning on admit cards, facial recognition, iris scanning and digital signature matching. Officials said this step will ensure complete identity confirmation and eliminate the possibility of impersonation.MPPSC chairman Rajesh Lal Mehra said the new arrangement will make the system more robust and transparent. He added that the technology-driven approach will effectively eliminate impersonation and strengthen the credibility of the examination process. To further enhance monitoring, CCTV cameras will be installed in all the halls, with live feeds connected to a central control room at the commission headquarters. Any irregularity can be detected and addressed in real time. The commission now conducts over 25 examinations annually. For 2026, recruitment has been announced for 155 state service and 36 forest service posts, with the possibility of an increase in vacancies based on departmental demands. The new system is likely to be implemented in other examinations in the coming years.
