Three girls drown in pond in MP’s Shajapur district

INDORE: Three girls were drowned in a pond in

Kheda Pahad village

, 12 km away from

Shajapur district headquarters

on Monday afternoon.

Four girls had ventured into the pond constructed in a field in the village to bath, when one of them moved to deep waters, Shajapur police said.

Others tried to save her and followed suit. Three of the girls drowned in the pond. Soon after an alarm was raised by the survivor, villagers rushed to the spot and informed the police about the incident. The deceased was identified as Anjali,

A team of divers was pressed into action as people gathered in large numbers near the pond.

The bodies were fished out and sent for post-mortem.
