INDORE: The tagline says, "Explore excellence and be the best." With active group discussions and a steely resolve, New Digamber Public School (NDPS) aims at making every child one of the best leaders. The student council of the school is an active group of around 60 students, which encourages students to participate in extracurricular activities. "We start our day with discussing a current topic that appears in the newspaper," said senior academic coordinator Vishal Bhatia, adding "topics may range from local to national and international fields."
At times, a spot-skit is prepared with students lively acting the roles that they are assigned with.
"Recently we discussed eco-friendly food items," he said, adding emphasis was laid on food nutrients necessary for the body. Students spoke for four minutes and presented a skit on the topic.
At the same time, the school ensures students are equipped enough to face challenges of life. Director, Gopal Marwal said, "The success mantra is, 'First deserve then desire.' The school aims at shaping career of students in all possible ways. Apart from laying stress on studies, it focuses on all-round development of students to enable them to keep abreast of technical development with use of computers.
Another important aspect of the school is that it believes in celebrating every occasion like Environment Day, Anti-tobacco Day and Teacher's day in the right spirit, the director said. "The basic objective of observing these days is to make students aware of burning issues the earth is facing," he said. Moreover, the school ensures 100% participation of students.
About sports, he said there are total 24 coaches for different disciplines to guide beginners and advance level students. "There has been good response for tennis from students," the director claimed, adding that the school has been able to guide budding players with the help of coaches hired from Mumbai. Sports help children keep mentally and physically fit," he said.
