INDORE: Unidentified thieves broke into a house in
Dwarkapuri
area and made away with cash and jewellery worth over Rs 5 lakh late on Tuesday night. The family was sleeping when the thieves entered the house from the terrace, the police said.
Officials said that the house owner was identified as
Rajesh Parmar (47), a resident of
Vidur Nagar Colony
. Rajesh and his family were sleeping when the suspects opened terrace door and entered the house. They stole gold and silver ornaments including a necklace, two chains, two pairs of earrings, three rings, and a pair of anklets,
Parmar
said in his statement to police. He also claimed that the suspects stole Rs 1.78 lakh cash from his house.
The estimated value of the stolen items and cash as per claims of the victim is around Rs 5 lakh, said the police.
A case under
IPC
sections 457 and 380 has been registered against unidentified thieves.
